What time is check-in and check-out?You are welcome to check-in from 3pm and check-out is 11am. 

Can we check-in early or late?
You are welcome to request this, and we always try and accommodate where possible, however we can only confirm this the day prior to your arrival/check-out so we can plan for other bookings that may arise.

Do you supply coffee?
Yes, we supply fresh ground stove top, drip filter, pod expresso machine and instant coffee.

Do you supply breakfast goods?
We supply some local seasonal products which may vary from time to time. This will include things like fresh bread, farm eggs, milk with a non-dairy alternatives, butter spreads and jams, and some other little surprises. There is a large lemon and feijoa tree tree and herb garden at Currawong House. Please enjoy enough for a meal so as can be enjoyed for future guests.

Is there an outside firepit?
Warburton is located in a heavily forested mountain area - bushfires are a very real danger and therefore we made the decision to not have an outdoor firepit for the safety of community.

Is there heating and cooling in all of the bedrooms?
The open plan lounge room is fitted with a beautiful wood fire place and we supply enough wood for your stay. There is a split heating and colling system in the main living and dining area. We have additional heaters and fans in the bedrooms for extra heating and cooling when needed.
 
How far is the Redwood Forest?
The Redwood Forest is about a 10 min drive away from Currawong House in Warburton

Is there a BBQ?
Yes we have a Weber BBQ available on the balcony.

Are there transport options in Warburton?
There aren’t any Ubers operating in the Warburton area but some taxis do operate if pre-booked. Most of the dining options are walkable from Currawong House. Warburton is about 80 kms from Melbourne – there are buses that run from/to Lilydale Train Station and transfers are available from the Airport but will need to be self-organised.

Will there be snow on Mt Donna Buang in the Winter?
How long does it take to drive to the summit?
And do you have toboggins?

Our snow season spans from June to September and snow can vary from year to year so there is no guarantee there will be snow during your stay. The drive to the Mt Donna Buang Summit carpark is approximately 20 minutes, and this can vary on how much traffic is on the mountain.
 
Can you walk to the Warburton township from Currawong House?
The views are awesome from Currawong House! It’s a lovely 10 -15 minute walk down the hill to the Warburton township and river. The return walk does involve a steep hill which may not be suitable for people with mobility issues or very young children.

Is Currawong House wheelchair friendly?
Currawong House is on a steep sloped block with access to the house via numerous steps. The house is also split level inside with steps between the living areas and bedrooms. Please enquire with us directly if you cannot find the information you need on our website as far as accessibility needs and requirements.

What are the best Walking and Mountain Bike Trails in Warburton?
The newly opened Ride Warburton Mountain Bike Park is a short ride away from Currawong House. Upon booking we will send out our guidebook with lots of information on the best local walks and on all the mountain bike trails for all ages and abilities. You can also enquire directly with us as to shuttle options for your group staying with us at Currawong.

Is there Bike and E-Bike secure storage on the property at Currawong House? Currawong House has dual access so you can easily drive onto the property with bike racks. We have secure storage facility for up to 6 bikes (including E-Bikes with power stations for charging) under the house. There is an outdoor bike wash area and a mud room at the back of the house so as you can remove your adventure gear before getting cosy inside Currawong House after your rides and adventures on the trails.
 
Can I book Currawong House for a wedding stay or for events?
Currawong House can certainly be booked for small elopement weddings or small retreats or for over-night stays for wedding guests, or post wedding and honeymoon stays.

Do you allow functions or events at Currawong House?
We are not suitable for large functions or events. The House accommodates 6 guests

What is the max no. guests we can book for?
Currawong House can accommodate a max of 6 guests. This is to ensure everyone is comfortable. There is a master bedroom with King Bed and ensuite, a second bedroom fitted with Queen bed and the third bedroom is fitted with 2 single beds. If you have a third child in your group we may take 7 guests on request, given the bunk beds can sleep 3 small children. 
 
Do I have private use of the entire property at Currawong House?
Yes, you have exclusive use of the property.

Is Currawong House Pet Friendly?
Yes, we love our fur friends at Currawong House and especially trail dogs. While we welcome pets at Currawong House please note that fur friends cannot be left at the property unsupervised. Please also note that the property is not securely fenced for your dog to be left outside unattended or unsupervised. There is a fee of $30 per dog per stay to cover the costs of additional cleaning to ensure the comfort of future guests. Currawong House has been designed to welcome you and your pet. Pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds. Any additional cleaning will incur a fee of $200 per incident and any damage will be charged back directly to guests.
 
Do you supply firewood?
Yes we do! We will keep you very toasty and warm at Currawong House. There will be wood by the fire ready to go and a fully stacked wood shed outside should it be one of those cosy be the fire days.

• Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 30 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that.

• While we welcome pets at Currawong House please note that fur friends cannot be left at the property unsupervised. Please also note that the property is not securely fenced for your dog to be left outside unattended or unsupervised. There is a fee of $50 per dog per stay to cover the costs of additional cleaning to ensure the comfort of future guests.

• Minimum stay is 2 nights.

• Our maximum guest no. is 6 people

• Check-in time is 3pm and Check-out 11.00am unless differing with prior arrangement.

• We don’t charge additional cleaning fees so we do ask that the house be left in a respectful and tidy state, and items returned to their place.

• Currawong House must only be used for private, residential usage only. Commercial use for photoshoots or other marketing activities are strictly by arrangement only.

• No smoking inside the house and cigarette butts are to be disposed of thoughtfully.

• Please respect our neighbours and wildlife with quiet hours between 10pm and 8am.

• Strictly no parties, events or group gatherings. Please contact us for any specific requests around wedding events prior to booking.

• We ask that you notify us straight away if something is amiss when you arrive at the property. If an incident of damage occurs during your stay you must let us know immediately so we can rectify it for you.

• All toys and sports equipment provided at Currawong House is used at your own risk. We will not be held responsible for any injuries that occur while in use. Please supervise children and pets, in outdoor areas.

• Costs for damage other than minor breakages will be passed on to the guest.

Booking Policy

We understand that there is only one planet we all share, and its resources are mostly finite. With that in mind we have tried to be mindful when establishing Currawong House 

• We provide poo bags which are fully biodegradable when placed into landfills or composts and packaged in recycled cardboard.

• There is a Nespresso machine to ensure that your coffee craving is satisfied and all the used coffee capsules are returned to Nespresso for recycling.

• In keeping with our commitment to the environment we provide a compost container for all green waste which goes into our compost bins and not to the landfill.

• During our renovation all lights were replaced with green LED globes which use far less energy than ordinary globes and last for longer than 25 years.
