A place we hope brings you and your loved ones special memories, connection to nature and time to relax, rest and explore
It’s beautiful here in this small house, in this small town on the edge of the mountains and forest.
Currawong house has been styled to bring the warm colours of the land and bark of the gum trees of the Yarra Valley after the rain into the interior. Now beautifully modern, welcoming and restful. Currawong House is designed to be your home away from home. There are decorative elements everywhere, from limited edition prints and original art on the walls to cabinets housing books and games. We are proud to welcome guests to Currawong House knowing that we have done all that we can to provide a wonderful holiday destination for everyone!
It’s a common aboriginal myth and narrative, particularly in the D'harawal story, that the currawong and magpie play a crucial role in bringing rain after a drought caused by a displeased Cloud Spirit. The currawong clan hears the magpie's special song and guides cloud spirits, who then release rain on the thirsty land.
The garden at Currawong House is fully fenced but please note that dogs are not to be left on the property unattended at anytime. To ensure the comfort of all guests dogs are not permitted on the beds or furniture. If you have a fur friend that tends to sneak onto the couch, the laundry mud room is spacious place for your pet to sleep. Please bring your own dog bed and towels for drying your fur friend after your days adventures.
Our mountain bike trail dog, Rex, is the love of our lives. So much so that we have become less and less interested in holidaying in places where we have had to leave Rexy behind. On our travels around Victoria and wider Australia, we have found it frustrating when holiday houses list as pet friendly but then you yourself have to compromise on comfort or have your dog sleep in the car. This inspired us to create Currawong House Warburton. your dogs are more than welcome We have fully renovated our holiday house with guests and their dogs at the forefront of our minds. There is no restriction on the size or weight of our four-legged guests. Although there is a fee of $50 per dog per stay to cover the costs of additional cleaning to ensure the comfort of future guests. We provide bowls, poo bags, and even a gift of treats to welcome our doggy guests.
